Our Process
Screening
The JCC assigns a Juvenile Court Counselor to the youth to complete the NC Assessment of Risk (NCAR). Based on the risk level, Court Counselors also complete the NC Assessment of Juvenile Needs (NCAN) and J-SOAP (sexual offenders only). The Court Counselor may refer the youth to other screening tools (e.g. CRAFFT, AUDIT, SASSI). These assessments are shared with the treatment team and inform the treatment plan. Results of the screening are discussed with the MDT and the recommended course of services is developed.
Assessment
For youth assigned to an Intercept Team, a comprehensive clinical assessment is done by the YV Intercept clinician. The Youth Villages Treatment Plan addresses the needs identified by this assessment. For youth receiving Enhanced Services, a comprehensive clinical assessment (CCA) is completed by the community provider. Results of the screening are discussed with the MDT and the recommended course of services is developed.
Treatment
The service array includes Enhanced Services, Outpatient Services, Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management, Psychological Evaluations, Intensive In-Home Services, Wraparound Services. For court involved youth the Durham/Youth Villages-Intercept Multi-Disciplinary Team determines the appropriate treatment process.
